Be sure to join us at the market in Virginia’s first Bee City this Saturday, June 23, to kick off the 2nd Annual Scottsville Pollinator Celebration. Start your day at the Scottsville Farmers Market by visiting with people from the Scottsville Center for Arts and Nature, McIntire Botanical Garden, Master Gardeners of Fluvanna County, Rivanna Master Naturalists, and NS DAR, from 9:00 a.m.–12:00 p.m.
Then walk down to Victory Hall (12:30-3:00 p.m.) for a Welcome and Proclamation from Mayor Nancy Gill, followed by a presentation from gardener, herbalist and artist, Deborah Davis speaking on moths in Virginia and their importance to our ecosystem. Stay for a free screening of the family friendly Bee Movie followed by a Q&A session with local beekeeper and business owner, Heather Stertzer, of Scottsville Supply Co.
